The next-to-last show was always designed as the last act reveal. With one more show until the end, nothing left to hide, no more music labels to suck up to and a lot of stories to tell -- Dennis Willis and Steven Kirk sit down on the opposite side of the microphone from Steve Wagner for a funny, surprising and very candid interview.

Wagner and Willis co-hosted FilmTrip from 1993 and 1998, while Kirk filed segments and conducted junket interviews from Hollywood. So, it made perfect sense for Wagner to host the hour and interview his friends. Because of Wagner’s front row seat status of the past 15 years, he was given carte blanche to ask any question and explore any topic.

And as much as Willis and company have meticulously crafted every step of this final season, they had no idea what Wagner was going to want to talk about. The result is a conversation far more personal than a third party could have extracted.

From teenage hormones on the set to Willis’ 1994 divorce; from drunken escapades on the set to the brazen and controversial 1985 Who Shot Gerold sequence; from personal turmoil to growing up in front of the camera – The Interview Show paints a complex picture of two guys and a quarter century of Soundwaves!

In this segment, the boys talk about programming a music show and how much it has changed due to the "narrowcasting" that radio embraced in the 90's.

In this segment, the trio discuss the importance of enjoying the process of creativity and not allowing it to become a job; and the challenges and rewards of producing an annual Christmas fundraiser.



PART 8
In this segment, the trio discusses how the process of producing television has evolved over twenty-five years (and most dramatically, in the past decade).



PART 9
Steve Wagner interviews Dennis Willis and Steven Kirk about the history of Soundwaves. In this segment, they discuss how personal and collective artistic integrity can impact a project.



PART 10
In this segment, Wagner congratulates Willis and Kirk on their 25-year run.

I think it's a testament to his absolute dedication that nearly two months has passed since you posted this picture and he has never stumbled upon it. I also find it pretty humorous that nobody has told him about it yet. Let's see how long it takes him and what else we can upload. Maybe I can videotape Daniel doing his Joey impersonation. It's pretty funny watching a two year old raise his eyebrows and say "How you doin'? It's my house!"

It was great fun sitting down with Wagner and talking about the good old days, but I’ve been getting a lot of e-mail asking the same burning question…

“Where was Joey Mack?”

Joe wanted to look his best for the show, and as luck would have it, he received a coupon for a facial treatment.

Well, Joe can’t say no to a bargain, so he drove all the way to Gotham City for the treatment…but things didn’t go exactly the way Joe thought it would.

Joe extends his apologies for not being there for the taping and promises to read the fine print before using another “1/2 Off Facial” coupon again.
